Chris Clavelli is the resident director of The Florida Repertory Theatre and professor of acting at Point Park University. He is an accomplished actor, director, coach and voice artist. The Wall Street Journal cited his production of The House of Blue Leavesat The Rep in their ‘Year End Best of 2017’. His acting textbook: Notes From the Room is now available through The Joy Press. A recipient of the best actor Carbonell and A Barrymore Award, 

he has performed in theatre, all media and teaches voice overs, acting, voice and speech, accents, oral interpretation, directing and classical styles. He makes his home in his beloved Pittsburgh.

 

My approach to voice arts is simple; suit the read to the genre while crafting a distinctive style based in truth and intimacy. For beginners, the work begins with perfecting inflection, operative words, tone and dynamics with solid acting choices through working with heightened texts and poetry. For working actors, it's capturing a personal voice style and crafting a broad range of reads for a variety of vocal demands. The work culminates in a 90 second, fully produced marketing reel that prepares you to submit and secure representation.
